The Kanic languages are one of the principal language families of Teles. They are descended from a common ancestor, Proto-Kanic, that was spoken c. 6000-5000 BK in an area spanning the eastern isthmus of Amutet. During their early history, the Kanic languages were influenced by the now-extinct Zempachi language. They have also been influenced by ongoing contact with the Handapachi language.
